Cleaning and Hygiene for...

Copy

Different industries each have their own health and safety standards. A certain level of hygiene is always expected but different institutions will have differing opinions of what is considered a high level of cleanliness. We believe that we should always strive to be as clean and hygienic as possible; it's what we do, after all!

At CS4UK, we service many different industries and have gained a lot of experience with them over the years. We wanted to share our expertise and provide some insight into what it means to meet the highest standards in your industry.

Nurseries/Primary Schools

We service a lot of different academic institutions, from university all the way to nursery-level. If you are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of schools or nurseries, you'll know that they have high hygiene standards. Kids can be messy but they also need to be protected from a lot of external factors as they safely explore the world, especially when they're of nursery age.

It's the responsibility of those who work in schools and nurseries to maintain these health and safety standards, regardless of whether their role is janitorial. In order to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in your institution, you need to:

  • Ensure everyone who enters uses alcohol-free hand sanitiser. Having a child-friendly option would be ideal but they can wash their hands upon arrival, which is a great habit to develop!
  • Ensure shared surfaces and items are disinfected with fragrance-free cleaner as children can be very sensitive to smells. Kids should be kept away from these surfaces/items until they are completely dry and can be used safely.
  • Regularly maintain washrooms. Spillages, unclean appliances, full bins or broken equipment can be extraordinarily dangerous for curious hands. Keep kids safe by having regular washroom checkups and a detailed checklist of what needs to be monitored.

Looking for products to keep your nursery or school as clean as can be? We recommend...

Outdoor Events

Summer is the perfect time to host outdoor events and attend attractions. If you're in charge of cleaning and hygiene for such events then you'll know there's a lot that goes into it. Keeping big spaces tidy when there are so many people can feel like an impossible task at times but there's plenty you can do to ensure you're meeting the highest hygiene standards possible!

Our tips and tricks for ensuring a clean, enjoyable environment at your event/attraction are:
  • Have ample bins available. People are going to have a lot of rubbish at a lot of different points. Having appropriate bins available will make your job a lot easier.
  • Clean as you go. Ensure that your team is on the ball and keeping things clean as you patrol. Sanitising touchpoints and picking up litter is a great way of maintaining maximum cleanliness.
  • Put signs up. People are more likely to keep their surroundings clean if there are signs asking them to do so. Putting them near bins, in washrooms or near food areas ensures that they'll be seen in areas with high foot traffic.

Cleaning Companies

Believe it or not, we supply a lot of cleaning companies! After our decades of experience, something we've noticed is that cleaning companies have to have high standards for cleanliness and hygiene too. It might seem obvious but making it a priority falls to the side when there are so many other things you have to attend to.

Making time to take care of your own janitorial needs is just as important as taking care of your clients. Here's how you can prioritise your own cleanliness to maintain high standards:
  • Keep your equipment clean and use different tools for different places. The things that do the cleaning should also be kept to a high standard of hygiene. Using different equipment for different places ensures that you're reducing the risk of germs being spread.
  • Keep your transport/storage clean. Keeping cars, vans and storage rooms clean is just as important as cleaning the equipment itself. If your storage and transport are a mess then it can find its way into your clients' spaces as well as having a negative impact on motivation and morale.
  • Regularly review cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure that everyone is following them properly. The number one reason for unhygienic environments is laziness - keep people on their toes and thinking about how they can maintain the high standards of your company.
